The Path Within - Buddhist Healing

Public Talk
Beijing Rain Library

The lecture explored modern people's psychological illness issues. He pointed out that despite material abundance today, there is spiritual poverty, and the root of psychological problems lies in excessive "self-attachment." Through the story of Bhikkhuni Utpalavarna, he illustrated the need to face life's setbacks with strength. He proposed three treatment methods: meditation to relax the mind, developing bodhicitta for altruism, and practicing the wisdom of non-self. He emphasized not avoiding medical treatment out of shame, as depression and other mental illnesses can be cured through Buddhist teachings or secular therapies. Finally, he encouraged everyone to observe life with wisdom and care for others with compassion.
