Eastern Wisdom and Western Life
Public Talk
Public Speech, Paris, France
Khenpo compared the differences between Eastern and Western cultures: the East emphasizes tradition and emotion, while the West emphasizes innovation and rationality. He stressed the importance of embracing different cultures and adapting to environments rather than complaining. He suggested studying "The Way of the Bodhisattva" to cultivate tolerance, preserving respective religious traditions, using religious wisdom to subdue afflictions, and integrating into the multicultural world while maintaining one's own national culture as a foundation.
