BUDDHISM: The Life Education

University Lecture
Beijing Normal University,China

This is a lecture by Khenpo Sodargye at Beijing Normal University on the theme of "Buddhist Education for Life." The core message is: modern education lacks moral cultivation. Khenpo points out that contemporary students do not lack knowledge or skills; what they lack most is a grateful heart and proper faith. Buddhism's Three Refuges and Ten Virtues are essentially universal behavioral norms that help people establish a moral foundation. Through the Four Dharma Seals, Khenpo reveals the truth of life—suffering predominates, everything is impermanent, and liberation comes through realizing non-self. He emphasizes that true happiness originates from within rather than from external material possessions. He calls on educators to cultivate students who are grateful, cultivated, and capable of benefiting others, in addition to imparting knowledge. Otherwise, no matter how advanced one's degree, it will be difficult to establish oneself in society.
