Daily Practices and Rituals in Tibetan Buddhism
University Lecture
University of Cape Town
A Khenpo introduces the daily practices and rituals of Tibetan Buddhism. He elaborates from four aspects: upholding precepts, listening to the Dharma, contemplating the teachings, and practicing meditation. He emphasizes two distinctive features of Tibetan Buddhism: the view of emptiness and the cultivation of bodhicitta (compassionate mind). He also introduces symbolic practices such as prostrations, prayer beads, and mani stones. Finally, he advocates for learning about and respecting all religions.
