The Buddhist View on Material World
University Lecture
Fudan University
Khenpo elucidated the essence of Buddhism: intelligent faith rather than superstition, universal compassion to benefit all sentient beings. Through the theory of the Three Turnings of the Dharma Wheel—from the Four Noble Truths to Prajñāpāramitā emptiness to Tathāgatagarbha luminosity—he revealed the true nature of the material world. He emphasized that intellectuals should shoulder the responsibility of spreading the Dharma, face life with the contemplation of impermanence, accumulate merit for future lives, and ultimately realize dependent origination and emptiness to attain the wisdom of liberation.
